In case you didn't see this on the Geospatial Centroid list...

ColoradoView (CV), in partnership with the Geospatial Centroid, has one paid student internship position for the 2019 Fall Semester (with possible continuation) for a project titled “High-resolution Land Surface Temperature (LST) and Evapotranspiration (ET) maps retrieval and water stress impacts on plant production in CO.”

 The intern will work on:

  • fusing 1-km MODIS and 30-m Landsat 8 products to produce LST maps in Colorado with both high temporal and spatial resolutions.

The intern will have the opportunity to learn/develop/practice state-of-the-art remote sensing and deep learning technologies on powerful computation platforms like Google Earth Engine and Google Cloud Platform.

We envision that the student intern will meet the following criteria:

  1. Eager to learn new computation skills. Some programming experience with at least one common programming language (e.g. Python, C++, Java, or Matlab) is required.
  2. Has knowledge of basic concepts in mathematics and statistics.
  3. Has basic understanding of key concepts in remote sensing (RS) and geographic information system (GIS). Scripting experience on some RS/GIS platform (e.g. GEE, ArcGIS, or ENVI) is a plus.

Scientists from the CV project and the Centroid will provide initial guidance and training, then will meet periodically with intern to discuss any problems encountered in the process. At the end of the task, the intern will prepare a report or a manuscript detailing the methodology used to accomplish the task and summarize results.

Graduate and undergraduate students are welcome to apply. Pay is: $12 - $15/hour, based on experience. Please send a letter of interest and resume by October 25 to g...@colostate.edu and maosi...@colostate.edu.
