Hi all,

Remote sensing and geography professor Steve Leisz has this announcement about his upcoming GR 430 Land Change Science and Remote Sensing course in Vietnam that may be of interest to folks on this list.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I will be teaching a summer study abroad / field school course in Hanoi Vietnam next year that will be the same as GR 430 Land Change Science and Remote Sensing. However, besides the in-class seminar-style discussion on land change science and remote sensing techniques and Google Earth Engine lab work that is done during the class when taught at CSU, the course will also include field visits in urban, peri-urban, and rural areas of northern Vietnam. If you are interested please look at the attached announcement.

Some other highlights:
  • This course is the same (and will count in place of) GR430 Land Change Science and Remote Sensing that I teach on campus every other year. So it counts as a GIS/Remote Sensing course;
  • The on-campus version is also a capstone course (which I hope means we could count the summer study-abroad course as a capstone also)
  • The course can be used as an elective for GR majors, and also can count as a physical geography course.
  • It's a 400 level course so grad students can count it towards their masters.
All the best,
Steve
