Greetings all

We are back with our Geospatial drop-in session this evening from 5:30 - 7:30 pm in the Warner College (WCNR) West lab on the second floor.  As always, these are opportunities for students, researchers, staff, and faculty alike to join us to discuss GIS topics, learn new GIS tips, work on projects, or have questions answered.

We also want to begin to use these sessions as opportunities for folks to present their research and for all of us to learn about geospatial applications in research across campus. This evening our own Ned Molder has graciously offered to kick things off with a presentation on:

Spatial Applications of the Hydrosocial Cycle: Understanding Urban Water Issues in Tijuana, Mexico

Urban water issues in the city of Tijuana are analyzed through the hydrosocial cycle framework and operationalized for GIS to understand where population and built-up area has grown, where water access is most limited, and how GIS/remote sensing can inform potential solutions to water challenges in "extreme cities".

Hope to see you there!

Additionally, if you have something that you would like to present either at a future meeting we would love to hear about it, please contact Ned or me and we will get you on the calendar (upcoming drop-ins are April 10, April 24, and May 8)!

Best,
Eric
