Hello CSTA-MN Colleagues,

Last year, AVID Center partnered with Microsoft Philanthropies TEALS (Technology Education and Literacy in Schools) to sync efforts in bringing sustainable computer science to high schools. With funding in part from Best Buy, this partnership model is being piloted in the Twin Cities area. We are in the final stages of recruiting high schools for the 2022-2023 schools and a few slots remain.

Participating schools will receive at no cost:
  • Registration (up to 3 attendees/school) for AVID's Computer Science CoP (Community of Partners) Session. This session will be delivered at AVID's Summer Institute at the Minneapolis Convention Center This session was designed for the secondary CS educator and has a net promoter score of 60.
  • Year - round support from a dedicated AVID Liaise
  • Year - round peer-to-peer support via the AVID TEALS PLC
  • Research and Evaluation tools based on the CSTA K12 standards for teachers
  • Scaffolded lessons for implementation support made available via AVID Open Access
This is an amazing opportunity for high schools in the Twin Cities area to grow their CS vision and impact. Interested schools can reach out to cquar...@avid.org for more information.

Let's chat if you have questions! Thanks so much for sharing.
