Hi everyone!
A student we me through Technovation is working on a project for her Girl Scout Gold Award in Girls Scouts. She reached out for some advice for her ideas and we met a couple of times.
She developed a STEM event with workshops for middle school girls, at her local library. Amazing!
She is looking for a woman that worked or is working in STEM to speak at her event. (See her note below). She asked me because I was working in the industry and now teach STEM, so someone with a similar experience would be fine too.
This could be done in person or virtually. I will connect you with her if you are interested.
Please let me know if you or a friend would be interested in participating.
Thank you!
Kerri Murphy

Hi Ms. Murphy,
I hope you are doing well, it's been a while!
Just a quick refresher on my project: in March I am hosting STEM workshops at my local library, one for biomedical science, one for technology, and the last for engineering. Girls from grades 6th-8th would be the target audience for these workshops and they would listen to speakers/do activities to learn more about different STEM careers. As a part of the technology workshop, I was wondering if you would like to be a speaker—you could talk about your experiences as a woman in STEM and share your story of getting into it. It will be in the afternoon on March 21st, and it would be great if we could even have around half an hour of your time (zoom would work). If you are available I can give you more details.
