Seeking High School Student Participants for Generative AI Co-Design Workshop
Do you know a high school student interested in generative AI? Excited about how to apply AI to their own education?
We are a team of researchers with the MIT Social and Ethical Responsibilities of Computing program exploring student perspectives on generative AI tools for education.
We are seeking participants (rising 9th through 12th graders) for a Generative AI for Education co-design workshop.
The workshop will be approximately three hours long and occur in-person at the MIT Media Lab (MIT Building E14: 75 Amherst St; Cambridge, MA).
Through group activities involving AI tool design and school policy design, participants will learn about how generative AI may be used in educational environments, potential pitfalls of generative AI, and the generative AI design process. Participants will
also help provide insights on the co-design process of generative AI tools for high school education.
Data we will collect includes sign-up information, workshop activities, and surveys given at the beginning and end of the workshop. We will also audio record the workshop. Participants will receive a $50 Amazon gift card for their participation in addition
to learning about generative AI for education and how to design generative AI tools.
