Hello and Happy Christmas!

Since we are all away either racing at Kempton or not hunting in the
shires on December 26th (and also by popular demand) and excited by
the festive season, we have decided to arrange:

The Connaught Square Squirrel Hunt [drag] (early) boxing day meet -
2pm, Sunday 18th December, Duke of Kendal, Connaught Street, W2

Many of you will know that the Boxing Day Meet is one of the
highlights of the Christmas calender for those that live country-wise.
It seems a shame that followers of the CSSH are unable to enjoy the
same pleasures of good exercise, hunting, a good glass of port and
mince pies.

The Joint Masters have therefore arranged an Early Boxing Day Meet
which shall, as far as possible, replicate the the enjoyment of the
real thing in an urban environment. We shall meet in the traditional
location of The Duke of Kendal, Connaught Street, W2 at 2 pm on
Sunday, 18th December 2005 to swap tall tales, presents and hangovers.

The purpose of our Hunt is simple. The Hunting Act forbids anyone
from encouraging, or possibly even watching, a dog chase a squirrel.
If they think you might do so, the police may search your house and
seize your possessions without a warrant. A magistrate may even order
your dog to be put down. Yes, folks, one dog, on its own! Compare
burglary, where the police need a warrant ...

It is important that the public is made aware that many are breaking
the law. More important, at least to the Joint Masters, that
Dillon/Dylan (Ed's Jack Russell) is not at risk of Judicial Execution
for his favourite passtime. Beyond that even, absurd laws should be
enforced properly in order more swiftly to achieve their repeal.
Otherwise, we will all become criminals with our punishment at the
discretion of the state. See: www.csshhq.co.uk for more on this.

Please attend for other reasons also. By chance, we have touched the
soul of true England. Most of our supporters have never ridden to
hounds. They support us because they support the principles that (1)
law should be enacted on the basis of reason and not prejudice; and
(2) the parliamentary process should not be abused on issues of
personal morality.

You should also come to have a really good time. If you have never
followed a man, pulling a sock, being chased by a dog, and followed by
men in silly clothes, darlings, this is your moment. Look at the
photos on the website: www.csshhq.org.uk. Good people, good exercise,
good fun!

Knowing the difficulties of the festive season, we have arranged lunch
at 1 pm and Bloody Marys (Maries ?) at 1.30. If you know you're
coming, please tell us at css...@gmail.com so we know how much
Tabasco to buy. If not, please just turn up. Even if you're late,
you won't be sent home! In fact, I don't suppose we shall be far from
Speaker's Corner once we've moved off.

If you would like to join us please let the Hon Sec know at
css...@gmail.com. If you can't, but hope to come to a future meet or
just want to stay in touch, register at www.csshhq.org.uk in any
event.

Yours festively,

Ed Seyfried & Duncan Macpherson
