My goodness me!
Following the damp excitement of the Connaught Square Squirrel Hunt Handicap at Newmarket last Sunday, we have rested too much on our laurels and not reminded you good folk that our next meet is this Sunday, yes THIS SUNDAY, AT 4 PM AT THE DUKE OF KENDAL PUB, CONNAUGHT STREET, W2. Not that you loyal followers needed reminding: oh, no, in fact I know of many that have planned their honeymoons and even their funerals around our meet timetable. That's devotion to the cause!
Anyhow, do please join us once again on Sunday when we shall be moving off at around 4.30 pm to cover our traditional ground of Hyde Park before reverting satisfactorily to the pub. All welcome: from pushchairs to wheelchairs and everything in between. Do bring visiting packs but please remember to bring a lead.
For those of you interested in the CSSH Handicap, it was won by Commando Scott, a 15-2 outsider, and was quite as wet as you would imagine. Results at: http://www.gg.com/racing/view.php?id=54396. Given the weather, we thought it would be cruel to encourage you to join us last Sunday but we are glad to report that the great Clarissa Dixon-Wright (of Two Fat Ladies and Clarissa & the Countryman fame) has accepted an invitation to our BALL ON 18TH OCTOBER 2007 AT BANQUETING HOUSE. No doubt you will meet the great lady then.
