Good Dillon/Dylan lovers everywhere,
The Non-Mounted Mounted Meet on 17th September was an outstanding success, despite the best efforts of our friends in camouflage. Notwithstanding a distinct shortage of horses and hounds, we had a turnout of over 150 followers plus a first puzzled and later amused press-pack of 30 journalists and 4 TV crews. I am happy to report that we had substantial and positive coverage in the Times, Telegraph, Observer, Evening Standard and even a small piece the Guardian. Our meet made the evening news on BBC London, ITN South East and Radio 4. Further abroad, we welcomed TV from France and Catalonia and the USA. Almost all pieces understood and represented our message of civil liberty through ridicule. Thank all of you very much who attended and deepest sympathies to those who got stuck in South London traffic.
Following last year's superb event, we have already sold more tickets than 2005. Banqueting House has room for a few more tables but we have to settle numbers by next Tuesday.
Could everyone wanting to buy dinner tickets send in their application form as soon as possible?
There is a link to the ticket form at the bottom of
http://www.csshhq.org.uk/2nd_ball.html. If you can't send in your form but want to come, please let Sara Vaughan know on 020 7243 9992.
It is not necessary to buy a whole table; we are good at mixing people together! And remember, all proceeds go to good hunting causes!
After-dinner tickets available - £65 per person. An excellent opportunity to go to 2 parties in an evening! First, meet your friends to go karting, abseiling, pot-holing or whatever; then put on your glad rags and come on down to the Banqueting House, where Billy Franks will be making that old Palace jump till
2.30 am. Downstairs, a bar, casino and funfair. Ticket includes a free drink and casino chip.
And we will not sting you with night-club bar prices - that's a promise! Download your application form from the link at the bottom
http://www.csshhq.org.uk/2nd_ball.html and send in by next Thursday 5th October latest. Any issues, ring Sara Vaughan on 020 7243 9992.
Finally, could those who have paid deposits on their tickets please pay the balance. Tickets will be sent out on Tuesday.
See you there,
Duncan Macpherson, JM
