Not sure if this is someone's real email account or we were simply attacked by some phishing doohickey, but the user tradertrade14 has been permanently removed from this group.

This IS NOT a place for spam emails, mass forwards of junk email, etc. If you have legitimate business you want to promote, information you want to share, etc., then by all means you can discuss that here, but spamming WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Thanks!
Whit

Hi All!

There have been several remarks over the last few days either left
here or emailed to me personally. From those, here is where we stand:

1) As for moderation, I have decided to let this site remain open
other than for brand new members (who cannot post without moderation
to try to alleviate the spam issue). The reason for this decision is
that I would hope that we can self-moderate, and also that if comments
need to wait for moderation, then it could be a few days before
something actually gets posted. This space was meant as a place for
all of us to stay in touch and find out whats going on.

2) Please try to keep the threads logical - there are 5000
Thanksgiving boogie threads, so finding information that has already
been posted is getting difficult - particularly when some Thanksgiving
information is now scattered amongst another 30 non-Thanksgiving
threads. A few people have asked if I had a way to solve this, and
here it is - ASK everyone that they try to keep things to a single
thread. The "Who is coming to dinner" thread has now been buried, and
it would be nice for people to see it when they come to the page.

and last but certainly not the least as far as I'm concered...

3) If you wish to receive fewer emails, please go to the "Edit My
Membership" tab and sign up for either Abridged or Digest emails or
you can choose to receive no emails at all. You can also use the same
tab to Remove yourself from this group. Emails sent to the group
asking to be removed are simply adding even more emails (that don't
need to be sent), and will not result in anything changing on your
account - you need to update that on your own.

And thats all I've got tonight :)

Hear, hear Whit!

Ok onto the Thanksgiving Boogie. Couple of questions:
For the person requesting names for the dinner I can say that there
are at least 6 to 7 Canadians travelling down for this boogie...and
they will be inerested in dinner.
1) Do you really require actual names to reserve a spot?
2) Would you happen to have some info on local Hotels that I can fwd
them so they can take care of pre-booking? Don't think they will all
be camping, so a list of local accommodations would be terrific!

Thanks so much!
Deb
