Subject: TED Prize and developer challenge
Dear Professor Moffat,
Your computer science students might like to know about a unique
developer challenge we are hosting in partnership with the TED Prize
(
http://ted.com) and Hopelab (
http://hopelab.org).
It's called "Move Your App!" and the goal is to challenge developers
to come up with creative smartphone apps and games to inspire physical
activity and fitness in the battle against obesity. Registration just
opened and the deadline is May 21.
TED has offered to invite the grand prize winner to TED Global 2010 in
Oxford this summer, with all expenses paid by Hopelab.
You can learn more about the challenge at
http://snaptic.com/challenge. The press release can be found here:
https://snaptic.com/blog/2010/04/snaptic-and-hopelab-announce-the-android-move-your-app-developer-challenge/
How might we best reach out to computer science students at your
university? Are there any courses or student groups who might be
interested? Many CS students are already familiar with iPhone and
Android apps, and going to TED Global is an amazing opportunity.
I look forward to your thoughts on this challenge and any ideas you
might have for working together.
Best regards,
Steve Brown
