Hi Kasey,

I just spoke to Debal and he's told me the students (from CA) have
confirmed their arrival at Basudha. Debal/I wasn't aware that they are
the students you have met/referred. It's better that they arrive at
Basudha around the first week of November.

I don't know of any organizations in Mumbai doing remarkable work in
sustainability. If the students have the time, they can go to Vanvadi,
a organic forest/farm 3-4 hours from Mumbai, and upwards (3-4 hrs) to
Vedchhi in Gujarat. Rainbow traveled with me to the Soneji farm, which
is a good place to visit.

If they want to visit Paunar/Sewagram/Wardha for a few days, on their
way to Kolkata/Basudha, that would be good. You have the info for
that.

After Basudha, they can visit Uthnau, near Shantiniketan, in West
Bengal. Uthnau is focused on helping tribal communities reclaim their
identity. It is managed by Kunal (Debal's younger brother) and Gita
(Kunal's wife). I have copied Kunal on this email.

Outside of Mumbai, Wardha and West Bengal, there are several orgs
doing excellent work in sustainability and social justice issues in
the states of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh,
Orissa, Uttarakhand, Himachal, Rajasthan, etc. It requires a lot of
travel, lot of energy and lots of planning. If your students are up
for it, I'd be happy o provide my inputs. I'll be in India until Oct
30.

Hope you are doing well.

Love and peace,
Rahul

Hey,

Thanks for that information, I kept the date then for Basudha since it
seemed to work out better. We also applied and were accepted at a
vipassana course in Bodhgaya starting on the 16th of November.

We are still planning on ending in Maharashtra at the all-women's
ashram. But in between it would be nice to visit Utanau, Rajasthan and
areas in the north and try to get into the SIDH courses as soon as the
schedule is up.

We are taking about 5 days to settle into Mumbai before Basudha, but
perhaps going to Vanvadi within that time would be a good option unless
it is too much in the first few days? What do you all think?

Erin
