From the MN High Tech Association:

MHTA’s ACE Leadership Alumni are partnering with Minnesota Computers for Schools (MCFS) to award a Computers to Classrooms grant.

The recipient will be a Minnesota K-12 STEM teacher who will have their choice of six Dell Optiplex or six Lenovo ThinkPad laptops. If you are interested in applying for the grant, the application is available as an offer at getSTEM-mn.

The ACE Leadership Alumni Committee is comprised of technology leaders from companies across Minnesota. Each member of the committee completed the year-long MHTA ACE Leadership program which develops and connects our region’s next generation of technology company leaders and assists in preparing them for the important roles they will play in making and keeping our region globally competitive.

The computers will be awarded to a Minnesota teacher who demonstrates innovation and leadership in the classroom. The purpose of the grant is to advance STEM education by providing computers to a classroom in need. Applications will be reviewed by members of the MHTA ACE Leadership Alumni Executive Committee.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • All applicants must currently be teaching within a STEM discipline as outlined by the National Science Foundation (NSF) requirements
  • Only Minnesota teachers/schools are eligible for the Computers to Classrooms grant.
  • Applications must be postmarked, e-mailed or faxed by Friday, March 23, 2012.

Minnesota Computers for Schools has a fifteen year track record of working with partners like ACE Leadership Alumni to upgrade or customize computers for the classroom.
