Kasey sat at his desk, reviewing the new personal files along with the hundred other things. He had his feet up on the desk a coffee in the other. A upbeat jazz tune played in the background. The computer let him know that the new MACO had arrived. He hit his comm badge, "Private Curtis Please report to Security company's office."

Cpl. Siedlecki, had desk duty today. He sighed as he organized reports and workedvarious other things that MCapt Kane asked for.

Marcus was watching the MACOs of 3rd Platoon train with the Kbars an essential part of the MACO equipment. "There looking better." Kinneas said looking at Marcus. And before Marcus could say anything Kinneas said it, "but they could be better." He said with a small grin.

"Friend we've been serving together too long if you can read my mind like that." Marcus said, "your right they could be better but then again fighting with the Kbar is one of the more challenging things......"

"Sir there's a new MACO that was just assigned to your platoon one of the companies administrative MACOs said.

"What's his name Private?" Marcus said turning his attention away from the platoon and to the administrator.

"A Private John Curtis he's waiting outside of your office." The other private said.

"Alright. And Kinneas finish up with this and then get them down to the range." Marcus said as he walked away without waiting for a confirmation of his orders. It didn't take long for him to get to his office, "Private follow me." Marcus said quickly as he walked into his office.

Curtis Snapped to Attention, "Aye Aye Sir" he sounded off, he followed briskly behind Marcus.

Curtis squared himself in front of the Lieutenant, and Again snapped back to attention, his eyes cooly stared dead ahead.

"At ease Private." Marcus said taking a seat at his desk, "I spoke with the drill instructor for your class and he had some good things to say about you." Marcus said looking at him.

"Sir, thank you sir. Permission to speak freely sir" Curtis spoke with standard marine cadence.

Curtis studied the man across from him, from his blonde buzz cut to his jagged scars,what stood before Curtis was the signature image of a marine, rough around the edges, not speaking unless needed, and one tough son of a bitch.

"Of course." Marcus said wanting to see what he was going to say.

Curtis spoke with his familiar country twang "sir, thank you sir, frankly it's good to be back, I missed Enterprise, and I'm itchin' to get back in the shit sir, but I've never worked with Captain Kane, I was hoping you could give me a SITREP" Curtis spoke

"To be honest I really don't know the man myself. I've only been with the security company for a few months. But he seems to be a capable leader and someone who won't send anyone to do a job he wouldn't do."

Curtis had learned his lesson too many times, he never took a person for face value, he always was a skeptic of others assessments of there colleagues, "Sir, I beg your pardon and mean no disrespect, but I would like to meet Captain Kasey and make an assessment of my own, not that I dont appreciate your insight, Ive just been misinformed before," curtis pauses, "with lasting consequences, sir." Curtis again solemnly paused, "Sir, would it be possible the Captain is free momentarily?"

"I Son I would suggest meeting with your Company CO. Hell you should've done that before coming to me. Your just lucky that I was told that you were apart of 3rd Platoon."
