Ed walked into the the fleet CiC, "back to work everyone." He quickly
said now regretting walking into a room. "Chara make a note to get rid
of the stupid salute every time I walk into a room." Ed said shaking
his head realizing how much time that wastes.
"Of course sir but you do realize that even with you doing that people
are still going to do it." She said with a small smirk as she gave a
polite nod to the Vice Admiral. "Also Commodore Amar is off base so
he'll speaking with us via communique." Chara quickly added just as
the screen turned to show several people the command team of the
Vindicator, 2nd Division Commander and the Director of Intelligence.
Arkan nodded back to Chara as he stepped toward the Admiral and leaned
a bit toward him. "She's right, Sir, such habits are hard to break,"
he whispered to Ed before assuming his place as the screen turned on
and several people appeared on it. He gave a polite nod to each
person, as he read their files, but it was the first time he'd met
most, if not all of them.
BGen Jackson, looking through some preliminary reports from the MACO¹s
involved and some of the findings from the operation. He looks forward
in hearing from the officers that were involve directly in the
operation.
"Greetings everyone I'm glad to see that everyone made it through and
I'm also glad that we've dealt a crushing blow to the Vanguard. Now
let's get on with the sit-rep Captain Dar please go first." Ed said
taking a seat and nodding for the others to as well.

Captain Dar nodded to the screen, "We sustained moderate damage during
the battle, most of which has since been repaired. Other ships
suffered more extensive damage but nothing that would cause serious
delay in returning to their normal duties." he paused, "We captured a
total of 304 Vanguard members, out of an estimated total of 900. Not
many of them appear to have been Starfleet at one point, rather
civilians and even some mercenaries. The ships that were here were
manned by the barest of skeleton crews."
"We also captured a former Starfleet vessel, a Miranda-class. It is
unknown at this time which ship it was previously or where they
acquired it." Dar looked to Lansine, "Commander Lansine secured it and
can speak to more of what they found."
Rob turned his eyes from the captain to the screen, "Yes, the Miranda
vessel, formerly the USS Brattain, is now secure," he paused and
glanced down at his padd. "Following boarding the vessel we
encountered limited resistance and managed to capture a Vanguard
officer. In the midst of the fighting we became aware of a radiation
leak in one of the ship's fusion reactors. The leak prevented
transport and communications with the Vindicator. With the guidance of
Commander Neyes we managed to isolate the radiation with the
navigational deflector and managed to escape," Rob looked back to Dar
and gave a small smirk. "Despite the all of that, the Brattain should
be salvageable."
Dar nodded, "What data we could recover from the Brattain and the
station itself is encrypted, so at the moment we have no idea what was
contained in their computers, but we are working on decryption. We
have also provided the information to Starfleet Intelligence."
"Excellent Commodore Amar should be arriving soon to help with the
salvage and any repairs that you might need." Ed said looking at the
group, "and now General Jackson how did the MACOs perform?" Ed asked
wanting to see how this new change was working out.
"Sir the reports I have received are preliminary, but performed
to standard." He replied. Reflecting on the performance they did their job
the standard is not enough for his liking. "I'll be conducting a more
detail review in the next few days." BGen Jackson
said.
"Good, good. And now on the intelligence front anything new that we
did not know when we went into this?" Ed asked looking at the intel
director.
Vice Admiral Douglas shook his head, "Nothing much. The information
from the various computer cores is encrypted and it will take a little
time to break it and sort through the data. The weapon stockpile
discovered may lead us along some interesting leads. We should be able
to trace the origin of some of those items."
"Alright keep me informed." Ed said looking at everyone, "Captain Dar
when is the Vindicator planning on coming back to Versailles?" Ed
asked.
Dar glanced off screen for a moment, "Sometime in the next couple
days. It depends on how long it takes us to fully search the station
and remaining ships."
"Alright good work to all and continue to be safe." Ed said nodding to
the comm specialist to kill the link.
