Amanda was aware that the Nali Delegate was due to arrive any moment and she didn't see any additional Security presence in or around Engineering. ~Curious.~ thought Amanda, ~It's not like the Jarheads not to keep an extra gropo or two around a sensitive area like Engineering, especially when there's anyone around that they perceive as a potential threat!~

She stepped out of her office sipping a cup of hot mint tea. "O'Mal! Where are you?" she called out. "Be right with ya, Boss!" MCPO O'Malley replied from behind a console that had been pulled out, "Just gotta keep a probie from blowin' us all up!" Amanda grinned and said, "By all means, take your time, Chief! Meet me in my office when you're done!" "You betcha!" he said with a smile. She went back into her office and sat down, looking at a few PADDs containing reports on sundry systems all from over the ship.

Moments later, O'Malley walked in wiping some grime off his hands with a treated cloth and leaned up against the doorway. "What can I do for you, Milady?" he said in his thick Irish brogue. "Have you seen any extra MACOs posted in the Engineering Section lately, O'Mal?" she asked, "I thought they'd be in place by now, getting in the way like they usually do when the brass gets nervous about visitors."

O'Malley smiled and said, "Aye, I thought they'd be underfoot by now, too. But I haven't seen any lately, Boss." "Hmm, that's odd. In the meeting they made it sound...I'd better call that Captain...Kane, I think his name was." O'Malley nodded and left the room. Amanda tapped the comm key on her desk. "Duquesne to Captain Kane, may i speak with you?" she said.

Kasey was walking thru the Armory with Cpl. Siedlecki, he picked up a rifle and looked it over then put it back. He heard his comm badge beep, "This is Kane, go ahead Duquesne." he said wondering what she needed.

"Captain, I'm sorry to bother you, but I was wondering if you had planned to station a couple of extra Marines...I'm sorry I mean MACOs...I keep getting that confused, in the Engineering section while our Nali friends are here." said Amanda, "I thought I would see them here by now...unless they were intended to be covert. Because in that case, bravo!"

Kasey smiled, "Aye, there is going to be a squad from 2nd Platoon covering Engineering. Some are in plain sight, others are dressed like your engineers. There are one or two in some high tech gear." He grinned, " Lieutenant Marcelle "Cobra" Roberts is in charge of the security detail for your section. If you have any questions or concerns contact her. And Lieutenant, it's OK. The change from Marines to MACO screws a lot of people up, including me."

"I'm sure it does, Captain." said Amanda with her usual smile, "Thank you for the information. I'm sure the security detail will fit in just fine and keep prying eyes from seeing what we don't want them to. Have a good rest of your shift, Captain Kane. I'll contact the Lieutenant if I have any other questions. Be safe. Duquesne out."

Amanda tapped her commbadge. +taps+ "Duquesne to O'Malley...The jarheads are already among us...if you see some new faces in engineer uniforms, don't point them out, just show 'em to me. Credits to latinum they'll be some of the covert ones. The non-coverts'll be easy to spot or probably just get in the way like we expect 'em to. Carry on as usual. Let's keep her running, O'Mal!"

The Master Engineer's Mate smiled and replied, +taps+ "Aye, Boss! That we will! Heading down to the Compound Singularity Core. One of the probies heard some funny noises comin' from one of 'em. Wanna come?" "Sure! I've been meaning to go down there anyhow...amazing piece of technology that...absolutely amazing! I'll meet you there! Duquesne out." +taps+
