Rebecca sat in their quarters after John left to go on duty and tapped
the comm panel on her computer, starting a comm to the USS Warrior. "I
hope he’s not busy."

Cyphrus was in his quarters, finishing last minute packing, on the
station after hearing that he should be expecting his new assignment within
the hour. He looks up abruptly as he hears the door chime. "Enter" he
called out. A young looking officer stepped in carrying a PADD and
handed it out to Cyphrus. "What's this?" he asked while taking the offered
PADD. The officer only replied with "Those would be your orders. You
also have a communication from the USS Enterprise." He acknowledge the
officer and walked over to his desk terminal. He sat the PADD down and
tapped on the terminal to take the incoming communication.

"Hey there, you." Becca said with a smirk as she saw her brother’s
face appear on the screen. "Long time no see, huh?" she said with a
chuckle.

Cyphrus let a smile cross his face as the screen came to life with the
image of his sister. "Hey there yourself. It has been a long time. How
are you liking your first assignment?" he asked. He picked the PADD
back up to quickly skim it while talking with his sister.

She shrugged, "It’s a lot of work... but its working out well so
far." she replied. She then smiled again, "I got some news for you though.
Its good."

Looking up from his PADD, "No one said it wouldn't be a lot of work" he
chuckled. "What's the good news?" he asked with a slightly raised
brow.

She smiled and showed him the ring on her left hand. "I’m getting
married." she said with a chuckle.

"That's wonderful news, Becca!" he said with excitement. "Now.. make
sure there's no aerobatics involved..." he said with a slight chuckle.
"Have you set a date yet?" he asked while finishing skimming the PADD.

She smiled, nodding. "I wont...trust me." she said then shook her head,
"No...we're taking things slow. But don’t worry, you and Kayla will
be the first ones I tell when we do." she said then frowned. "I just
wish dad could be there."

Cyphrus frowned a bit "I know, sis... but remember, he's out there
somewhere... and he will be there with you in spirit." The frown that was
on his face quickly faded as he began to smile again. "So when do I get
meet the lucky guy?" he asked as his smile turned into a grin.

She nodded, "I know." she said then a smile reappeared on her face. "As
soon as our ships can get together...were on our way to the delta
quadrant. I wanted to talk to you before we entered the wormhole since
I’m not sure a signal can make it that far or not." she said, brushing
some hair out of her face and held up a picture of her and John. "This is
him at any rate."

Cyphrus smiles again "Ya'll make a good couple.. well, from what I can
see in the picture anyway." He chuckled at his own comment. "It looks
like I have some good news of my own as well." he said still holding the
PADD.

She looked at him and smiled, "Oh? What’s that?" she asked seeing the
PADD in his hand.

"I'm being assigned to the USS Warrior as the new assistant engineer."
he smiled. "It's a Prometheus Class ship. I can't wait to get on that
ship and start learning every inch." he smiled.

She smiled, "That’s great Cyphrus. Do you like it?" she asked as she
took a sip from the lemon tea in her cup.

Cyphrus chuckled a bit. "Not sure, I got my orders just as you called.
I must admit though... I do feel somewhat honored, considering that
when this class was first tested.. Only 4 officers were trained to operate
it." he sat the PADD back down on the desk. "Do you know how long you
will be in the Delta Quadrant?" he asked.

She shrugged, "I don’t know...I’m just an assistant operations
officer Cy." she said looking at him. "I hope when I do get married
you’ll be able to be here. If dad doesn’t show up someone has to give me
away." she said with a grin.

Looking at her grin, he let a slight smirk cross his face "Are you
implying that you want me to be the one to give you away if dad isn't
there?" he asked.

She nodded, "Aye... I am. Wouldn’t you like to give your baby sister
away?" she asked with a smirk.

Cyphrus' eyes lit up. "Of course I would. It would be an honor and my
pleasure." he said. "As soon as you set a date, let me know so I can
inform my new captain... Maybe he'll let me take leave to be there." he
said as he smiled at her.

She smiled, "I will..don’t worry." she said then held up a picture of
a long white dress with lace and a big bow at the small of the back.
"Like the dress? I thought I’d go a regular dress instead of a dress
uniform." she said.

Cyphrus smiles. "You know sis, it really doesn't matter what you
wear... either way, you'll be stunning. I of course, if I can go, will be in
my dress uniform." he replied.

She nodded, "Mom would be proud...of all of us." she said, remembering
how their mother had died giving birth to their little sister Kayla.

Cyphrus nodded. "So would dad." he said. "I'm very happy that you were
able to get past the accident and find happiness again, Becca. You
deserve it." he added.

She nodded, "It took me awhile...and John went to the Academy the same
time I did remember? He was there when it happened and has been there
for me ever since we started dating here." she said. "he’s a good man
Cy."

Cyphrus nodded. "Yes, I remember." Now sounding more like a protect
brother "..and for his sake, he'd better be." He slightly smiled
"Otherwise, he'd have a handful to deal with."

She laughed, "Easy Cy...he’s wonderful." she said. "Now....are *you*
seeing anybody?" she asked with a smirk.

Cyphrus chuckled. "Not currently... Who knows.. Maybe something will
happen on this assignment." he said with a smile.

She nodded, "Have you heard of Kayla is done with the academy yet?" she
asked, knowing the last time she talked to her she was still there.

"I did... She went into medical." he replied. "She sent me a letter
last week." he added.

She smiled, "Where’d she get assigned to... do you know?" she asked.

Cyphrus thinks for a minute. "I believe it was the USS Tempest, but
don't quote me on it." he finally replied. "You might be able to check the
Starfleet records for it to be sure." he added.

She nodded, "If I had time.. my duties keep me pretty busy." she said
with a smile.

"Once I check in, I'll see if I can't double check for you and get back
to you on that." he said with a smile.

She smiled and nodded again. "Tell her I said ‘hi’ will you Cy?"
She asked.

Cyphrus smiled. "I will, Becca, and I'll tell her to write you as
well... Now that I know where you are." he added with a grin.

She smirked. "I would have told you sooner....but I got so wrapped up
with John." she said with a nervous chuckle. She looked at her chrono.
"I need to get back up to the bridge for my shift." she said with a
sigh. "But don’t worry...I'll contact you again as soon as I’m able."

Cyphrus laughed a bit. "It's ok, sis." Noticing her look at her chrono,
he grabbed the PADD back off the desk. "I understand, I need to get
moving myself. I still need to check in with my CO." he said with a
smirk.

She nodded, "I'll talk to you later?" she said. "And don’t
worry...I'll be safe."

"Definitely, I'm only a comm signal away." he added smiling.

She nodded " Take care Cy." she said tapping the com panel and ending
the call before standing up and walking out of her and John’s
quarters.

Turning she went to find the Chief Ops, LtJg Drake. She stopped and tapped her combadge, "Computer, locate LtJg Tristan Drake."

 

"LtJg Drake is located in Environmental Control." came the computer's reply.

 

Rebecca nodded and went off to go to Environmental Control. She still hadnt had time to officially meet her new "boss". She smirked at that as she walked off.
