WebOPI broken in Firefox 29

Hi,

since the latest update of Firefox, users here at BESSY/HZB complain about our WebOPI-based information pages not showing up anymore (forever spinning "Loading OPI..." spalsh screen).

It's a known problem in "older" RAP versions that pops up due to a change in Firefox's JavaScript implementation/object model.

e.g. see https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=433179 for details

Suggestions are to update to a more recent RAP version or inject a workaround (see here) in the application (WebOPI) - but both are thing's I can't do easily.

The CSS-BOY google group may be problematic.

The best location might be EPICS tech-talk, because there we already start to get replies from people who aren't CSS developers.
CSS-BOY, on the other hand, might only catch attention when Xihui, who no longer actively works on BOY, finds time to forward the requests.
