ABOUT SMILE:
Smile Foundation is a national level development organization promoted by a group of young corporate professionals with the idea of catalyzing civic driven change. Currently Smile is working in 27 states of the country with its projects under the four areas: Mission Education, Healthcare, STeP – An Employability Enhancement Program and Women Empowerment Program (Swabhiman).
THE PROGRAM:
“Improving the Health Conditions Of Adolescent Girls” will be implemented in 10 villages of Block Amirgarh, district Banaskantha, Gujarat, India. This project aims to improve the Health and Nutrition status of the target population i.e. Adolescent Girls. A baseline study was conducted by Smile Foundation in 38 villages of the Amirgarh block to assess the nutritional status of adolescent girls (14 to 19 years) in the region, revealed that 78% of adolescent girls are anaemic (varying from mild to severe), with 50% girls being moderately anaemic and about 13% being severely anaemic. The survey also revealed that only 17.6% were attending school, with most respondents (49%) dropping out of school after Class 6 or 8. The study further revealed that around 84% of the respondents have never consumed any multi-vitamin or iron folic acid supplements, and most of them having no awareness of anaemia or ever having checked their anaemic status. The project aims to increase to create a positive deviance in the food eating behaviour, nutrition status etc., thereby setting a pathway for a healthy well- being among adolescent girls.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Project Manager will have overall responsibility for managing the project on the ground, support in finalizing the NGO partner, coordination with the local stakeholders including Government (Concerned line departments such as ICDS, Health, and Education), NGO partner, Community Leaders etc.
The specific areas of responsibility include project implementation; technical as well as financial and administrative oversight, training and handholding of village level staff placed with the local NGO partner. She will also be responsible for day-to-day monitoring of the project and reporting to the next level. The Project Officer will report to the Manager – Special Projects and will maintain day-to-day contact with training staff and grassroots worker and administrative staff to ensure timely delivery and quality control of the educational sessions for life-skills, nutrition and health and vocational training and ensure quality control.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION :
• A Post Graduate in Social Work, development studies, rural development/management or nutrition etc. • Two Years of experience in implementation of program for women and Children with reasonable exposure to Social Behavior Change Communication & Nutrition and Government Liasoning. • Female Candidate would be Preferred Only • Command over (Gujarati) (both written and spoken); good knowledge of English and Hindi (both written and spoken)
SKILLS :
• Understanding of social behavioral change communication (SBCC) and facilitation skills • Project Management, Monitoring and Evaluation and Reporting Skills • Good people-oriented skills, should enjoy interactions with people in the community and other stakeholders • Command of MS packages including Word, Excel and Power Point • Understanding of the government system, programs and schemes along with social and gender contexts and frameworks. • Two-Wheeler Driving License would be necessary
