Hello. I am Chair and Partner of MHCi, and have worked in the Corporate sector (IBM, BAT, ITT/STC, Addax, UEFA, BP), the United Nations (ILO, UNDP, WFP, UNIDO, UNITAR), The World Bank and in Academia (IDS Sussex, QEH Oxford, Middlesex, Geneva Universities), and have held a number of Professorships (Middlesex, Brunel, George Mason University).
I am a PhD economist with a strong focus upon measurement, employment issues and executive education especially in emerging market economies. Since leaving the UN where I was a staff member for 13 years (ILO) I founded MHCi and its subsidiary the CSR and Financial Institute (CSRFI), founded the Arabia CSR Awards and founded and directed for six years until 2013 the University of Geneva's CSR Executive Training. I advised the USA Chamber of Commerce's Corporate Citizenship Programme as well as spending my time spreading my particular brand of systematic CSR/Sustainability around the world.
I have published over 120 articles in journals, am a regular contributor to CSRwire, and am the author of 13 books of which two on CSR featured here. In 2011 I founded CSR Meetups now active in seven capitals round the world. Readers of these paragraphs are welcome to join. I was also, surprisingly, included in the 2011 top thought leaders in Europe and the Middle East in influencing the social, economic and sustainability of companies and invited as founder member in 2013 of Alliance of Trustworthy Business Experts. In 2013 I was included in the top 100 thought leaders across the world. In 2014 I received a Lifetime Achievement Award for CSR from Delhi University, and shall receive an Honorary Doctorate from London Metropolitan University in July 2014.
