Dear all,

It is my pleasure to join CSR community. Let me introduce myself and my organisation.

My name is Karina Ufert and currently I work as Yangon-based Country Manager Myanmar for SPARK, Dutch development NGO. SPARK is focusing on higher education, entrepreneurship and SME development in fragile states. We run activities though our regional offices in the Balkans, MENA region, Western Africa, South East Asia.

SPARK Solutions & Services have been developed with and for our local partners. They contain private sector development approaches with specific conflict-sensitivity, gender awareness and rights-based approach.

SPARK solutions are:

• Business Support Centres that contain elements of training and coaching for entrepreneurs, including online learning;
• Microfinancing opportunities for startup businesses;
• Faculty enrichment though curricula development for VET and higher education sector, internal quality enhancement, teacher training and support;
• Private sector development advocacy, focusing on removing business barriers and creating enabling environment for small and medium enterprises;

Myself, I have background in higher education and research, including acting as a President of the European Students’ Union and later working at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris. I am continuously cooperating with institutions, responsible for quality and quality assurance of higher education, such as European Network for Quality Assurance (ENQA), Asia-Pacific Quality Network (APQN) as well as individual higher education institutions.

I look forward networking and collaboration opportunities in the fields related to VET and higher education, research, SME development (energy, water and garment industry in particular), international trade and more.
