Hi all!
This is Eren from Turkey and I am new on this group. I’m an environmental engineer by training and have a master’s degree on Strategic Leadership towards Sustainability. I am personally interested in learning organizations, systems thinking and compilation of natural and artificial organizations (say companies, governments, etc). I am currently working at S360, about which you can find further information here.
We, as S360, work as an advisory company on sustainability related topics in Turkey. Our journey towards sustainability has started more than a year ago, when Mr. Kerem Okumuş, Managing Director, identified the gap in terms of sustainable business and sustainability of companies and organizations which operate in Turkey and in the region. Sustainability is a new and an emerging topic in Turkey, where companies do not have comprehensive and coherent vision towards the issue. Therefore the gap is kind of big and it needs to be filled properly. In that sense we work with companies from the different sectors (such as telecommunication and ICT, construction, food and beverage) and try to create their own sustainable future.
Not only by working with companies to leverage their sustainability perspectives, but also by carrying out social investment projects, we try to add value to society. One of the regarding projects is called as Dialogue in the Dark, which has been created by Andreas Heinecke, a German entrepreneur. It is an exhibition where you do not see anything since it happens in pure dark. That helps you to have a journey into your own ‘self’. We hire blind people in the exhibition as staff and guides, which helps them to feel as a part of the society (www.dialogistanbul.com). The other one is called Masterpeace. In that sense, we are going to organize the World Peace Congress 2014, in İstanbul, Turkey (www.masterpeace2014.nl). For us, peace is seen as an integral part of a sustainable society and that’s why we give enormous importance to that project too.
We, as the team, are really open, flexible and fun crew. Collaboration and co-creation are essential for our working style. Additionally, we are dynamic, following the new and emerging trends in sustainability, new ways of working, learning and sharing. Through the CSR-Resources Group, we would love to hear about the opportunities of collaboration and working together in fun and entertaining ways. We look forward to new collaborations with the experts in the field.
