Hi Everyone,

Thank you to those who came to the last community forum on the
Census.

This month, we will hold a discussion about how we can work to create
a stronger sense of community and support localism by making resources
more accessible and affordable for everyone.

Discussion questions for your consideration:

1). What would improve your quality of life in Lowell/the greater
Merrimack Valley?

2). What ways can we better share our collective resources so that
everyone in the community (students, plumbers, non-profit
administrators, artists, seniors, etc.) can benefit and feel more
connected to one another?

3). How can we work with local CSA's, farms, non-profits, and other
groups to help support locally grown and healthy foods, and how can we
bring those resources to our communities (through markets, a food co-
op grocery store, etc)?

4). Is there a way for individuals and organizations to pool resources
to provide free or affordable community classes or services (yoga,
cooking, solar panel installation, dog-walking, etc) for one another?
Other regional communities have developed time-bank systems and other
types of cooperatives in which members exchange an hour of their time
sharing a service they can provide (ie: hair-cutting) in exchange for
a service they need (ie: grocery shoping).

5). What formal and informal partnerships of this sort already exist,
and how can we build on them?

Please bring your ideas and dreams to share with us! We hope to see
many of you there.

Allegra
