Dear friends,
Tommorrow on 5th October 2009 the global citizen's would commemorate World Habitat Day. Theme of the year is "Planning Our Urban Future"
We've taken this opportunity to invite citizens of Lucknow to express their views and aspiration about how they would like to see future Lucknow.
We'll be putting large banners at GPO Crossing, Hazrat Ganj and Jhandewalan Park, Aminabad at 10:00 am. for the purpose. The feelings, anguish and suggestions penned by concerned citizens would be consolidated and shared with civic authorieties and government with demand to ensure citizen's participation in planning and development of the city as envisaged guaranteed under 74th Constitution ammendment and envisioned in National Urban renewal Mission documents.
Considering your concern for the city and humanity we invite you to join us and express your candid thoughts about the city in whatever way you like.... written suggestion, sketches, poetic expression............................
Attached is a design of the banner we'll be installing and a schedule describing what Oxfam and its partners are doing in various cities to mark the occassion and use it for advocating the cause of urban poor workers and sustainable and inclusive city planning and management.
Look forward to meet you there... Pl share the information to as many people as you can ........
