Recently I received a mail from dkpan...@gmail.com (secretary of
csocoop) inviting me to take a quiz-test to take colour blindness
test on one of the web-pages of the web-site <www.flixter.com>.
While it looks quite innocent, as you send an invitation to other
friends to take the test, the web-page asks for the password of your
e-mail ID. Though as you type the password characters appear as all
stars (like *************), but when you give your password of your e-
mail ID on somebody else's web-page i.e. on any web page other than
the web-page of the e-mail service provider, you are running the risk
of inadvertently passing away information of your password. There are
quite a few web-sites playing this trick, alluring you with various
fascinating facilities. A similar such web-site is WWW.JAXTR.COM
which entices you with providing facilities for free international
and local phone calls from anywhere to anywhere on the earth..
Clever unscrupulous web-page designers resort to such clever ploys
to get passwords of e-mail ID's of people and they may use this to
open your e-mail box and get all your sensitive personal
information. They can instantly copy your entire e-mail box and keep
it on their server for their future use.
Pandey Sahab, as you have already sent out one such invitation to
me, your password has already been phished by www.flixter.com. Plz
change your password immediately.
Thanking you,
yours
