FROM FLASH-IT, A DISSEMINATION PROJECT RELATING EUROPEAN POLICY PRIORITIES TO EU-FUNDED RESEARCH IN SOCIO-ECONOMIC SCIENCES AND HUMANITIES POLICY RESEARCH ALERT

POLICY SNAPSHOT Nº 6
JULY 2013

How can the European Union engage more effectively with the rest of the world? Suggestions can be found in the policy-relevant research findings featured in the latest edition of Flash-IT’s Policy Snapshot.

Focusing on issues of vital interest to the EU’s multi-faceted external relations policy, the FLASH-IT sixth Policy Snapshot (click here) provides a brief overview of results from five EU-funded research projects. The specific topics covered include:

  • The EU’s contribution to multilateral organizations and peace initiatives
  • Perceptions of the EU from abroad
  • Drivers of migration to the EU from Morocco, Senegal, Turkey and Ukraine
  • How Chinese elites view the EU
  • The benefits of a sub-regional approach to international relations

As the EU endeavours to strengthen its global position, it stands to benefit from insights generated by relevant research projects it has funded. We hope our sixth Policy Snapshot will succeed in drawing attention to these insights, inspiring decision-makers to explore them in greater detail.
