Dear All,

The Assoc. of Indian Universities has a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with a lot of university bodies around the world, including the Universities of UK. Please check the following link: http://www.aiuweb.org/International/International.asp

Since Coventry Univ. is a member of UUK (http://www.universitiesuk.ac.uk/AboutUs/WhoWeAre/Pages/Members.aspx#C)

The MOU mutually recognises the degrees and qualifications; thus AIU members recognise CU degree (and vice-versa).

I thank Dr. Cyril P. Raj for this info. He also informed that MSRSAS students has attached printout of this information to their application and have been able to secure faculty positions in Indian colleges.

This is for FYI and hope it helps.

Regards,
Gangadhar

Dear Naveen,

As the paragraph in the report quotes:
Ravilochan Singh, Managing Director of Global Reach, a prominent education consultancy, says thousands of students who go to UK are now worried. He says “AIU needs to be presented with facts so that it can change its equivalence system and accords exception to the one year Masters from UK.”

Someone has clearly lobbied and presented AIU with facts; now the AIU site also has the following line:
Universities UK (UUK) www.universitiesuk.ac.(draft MoU has already been sent to UUK)

It will become official once the MOU gets signed/ratified.

Regards,
Gangadhar
