How can the share capital be reduced in case of redemption of preference shares?

Redemption of Prf. shares can be carried out of proceeds of issue of new shares or from Profit after trf. of profit to Capital Redemption Reserve account and thereafter you need to file form SH-7.

If issue of redeemable pref shares , terms and conditions of redemption , authority to Board for redemption is covered in AoA , then no need to alter AoA now at the time of redemption. 

If the above is absent , then AOA has to be altered to include the conditions of redemption
