Waiver of Loan from director

Dear Members 

A director in the Private Limited Company had granted a loan to the Company. Now as per the mutual agreement between the two parties the director wishes to waive of the Loan amount. Will this arrangement be legally correct ? 

If yes please suggest what supporting documents are required to be executed for such arrangement.
