Can you please expalin me how to calculate due date for transfer of unclaimed dividend amt to Investor Education Protection Fund and is there any time limit from due date within which it has to be deposited in the Fund.

Madam

 

As you aware Dividend once declared should be paid with in 30 days and once the dividend amount is is not paid or not vcliamed with in that 30 days period should be transferred to a separate account latest by 37th day from the date of declaration. to a separate account to be opened by the Company in that behalf in any scheduled Bank to be called 'Unpaid Dividend Account of ---------------- Company Limited/Private Limited.

 

Any money so transferred to a separate account and remains unpaid or unclaimed for period of 7 years from the date of such transfer shall be treansferred to IEPF

 

 

in simple the 7 period started from the 37th  Day.

In continuation of views of Mr. Kameswara, grace of 30 days period is allowed after expiry of 7 days as in F1INV, you have to fill the amount by which amount should be deposited in the fund. This can be explained by following:

Suppose

date of declaration = 01st january 2005
date of transfer by which fund should be transferred to separate account = 06th February 2005
After expiry of seven years, amount by which fund should be transferred to IEPF = 7th March, 2012.

Thank You Sir but can you explain me by giving example how to calculate due date for transfer of unclaimed dividend to IEPF and is there any time limit from the due date within which it has to be deposited in the IEPF.
