Dear Experts

If there is change in the address of the Director, then DIR 6 is to be file first and then DIR 3 KYC. Am i Right? or there is no need to file DIR 6 as the same gets updated only by filing DIR 3 KYC.

Hi ekta

If you are filing dir 3 kyc for first time, then dir 3 kyc would do.  If you have filed it last year,  then you have to file dir 6 and then do dir 3 kyc.

Hi,

No need to file DIR-6. Address will be updated immediately once form DIR-3 KYC filed.( whether its first time or second time doesn't matter).

Please refer updated DIR-3 KYC FAQ on MCA website.

It's better to file DIR-6 first & then file KYC.

Mr. Rajesh, could you please clarify in which question no (of KYC FAQs) this particular thing is mentioned ?

Rajesh Ji, I am also not finding the question as mentioned by you in KYC FAQ.

Further, Kartik Ji I Called DIN Helpdesk and raised my query. They are also saying that there is no need to file DIR 6, only DIR 3 KYC is sufficient.

If Dir 6 is not to be filled for address change ....then what is the intent of keeping alive this form.....i suppose for address change we need to file first DIR-6 then kyc thru dir 3 kyc or web portal.

I have raised a ticket for the same and received following reply :-

All information as entered in the form DIR-3 KYC shall be updated in the directors’ database. So there is no need to file form DIR-6 separately.

In my case, I had to change the residential status & his present residential address. That's why I had to file DIR-6 before filing KYC.

V KARTIK JI

DO YOU WAIT FOR APPROVAL OF DIR-6 OR FILE DIR-3 KYC RIGHT AFTER FILING DIR-6 WITHOUT WAITING FOR APPROVAL.

THANKS IN ADVANCE

I wait for approval of DIR-6 & once the same is received, I proceed with the filing of KYC.

In certain cases (not KYC), the system throws an alert to update the details by filing DIR-6.

Hence generally this is the system to be followed.
