Query on Dispatch of EGM and AGM Notice by same post.

Dear Members,

A company is planning to hold AGM and EGM on same day.

Can Both the notices be send through same post i.e 25 days clear from the date of EGM/AGM.

Is there any circular preventing to send EGM/AGM notice by same post.

Kindly provide your views in this regard.

Dear Keshavan,

According to my knowledge, EGM held only in case when your AGM date is different.....you can only held AGM for passing the same resolution which is to be pass on EGM....what is the purpose of EGM if you are conducting AGM on the same date.........Learned members please correct if i am wrong....

Hi let me clear you some points on EGM
 
First EGM was held when u want to carry things which u cannot want to postpone till nest AGM.
 
There is no law prohibiting you to hold EGM and and AGM on same date.
 
but what is the use when u can held the AGM on the same day y u not place the EGM business in AGM Notice as Special Business.
 
Now u r contending u can send both notices on the same day by same post, nest u can contend that u can file one form 23 for all those resolutions passed in the EGM and AGM.
 
But i am curious y u want to hold both on the same day?

Hi,

Thanks for your immediate response.

EGM  mentioned here is a court convened one.

So cannot pass the items as special business in AGM.

AGM is convevned on same date for passing regular business as usual in AGM's.
