Now ICSI made PCH ( Programme Credit Hours) Compulsory for every
Members. Please See ICSI portal.

PCH is compulsory for three categories
 
i.e.1.  CS in Practice
2. Form 32 Filed for Appointment of CS U/s. 383A .
3. PCS above the age of 60 yrs - 50% of PCH required
 
Indirect Exemption to people those who are working in employment i.e without filing Form - 32  and working in PCS office without getting CP no.

The recent notification of institute is welcome one.  I have written few suggestion last one year. During election also we have raised the issue. At last relief came now.  It is good move. Larger participation will come for professional development programmes.  Better late than never

We only request to provide eminent faculty to conduct the courses not same old faces continuously act as faculty.

All ICSI  members note that we are not doing differently from other professional institute. What ICAI has introduced  few years ago  professional development for members in employment , now we are introducing.

We don't know whether institute will revise annual membership fees since icai has already revised the same.

Dear Mr.Prem goel

The forum are started and addressing lot of questions and answers.  Lot of awareness has already created.   I have written various mails regarding larger participation as well as professional development programmes for the last three years but no response.  Now they have come out with professional development programmes.

  Please go through my  mail, if larger participation, then we should have eminent personalities to conduct the programmes.

Whoever are coming are office bearers, they are bringing their own friends to ask them to act as a faculty.  They should give balanced view in all respects.

My point of view is that lot of value addition is required for younger company secretaries, if the institute is coming forward such programmes provided with eminent facutlties i.e  professors from IIM or eminent personalities  like  Top ten corporate consultant who are dealing  with various specializing areas are welcomed.

The problem I think is with its members as well without considering the reality they just start  appreciating the decisions of the Institute, while welcoming the decision I request you to consider the legalities of the decision.  There are many ways to reach a goal & we cannot achieve our purpose simply by spending huge amount or by forcing others to pay us their hard earned money & then go to hell,  this approach on the part of a professional body or its members cannot be appreciated.
 
In this Institute what I observe in  my life time that the Institute works with only one guiding principle i.e. All members are for the Institute and the Institute is the personal property of the Secretary. 
 
And for the Council of the Institute;

  Jo Kahe Secretary wohi Resolution." 
 
When a question on the legal status of a decision is raised is it not the duty of the Institute to first reply the question.  Till date the Institute did not even care to acknowledge the letter though it was delivered in the office of the Institute on 21.03.11 & why this has happened because the members just not to diosplease the Institute preferred to support considering their personal motives.

yes they should give more avenues and please note that if we attend study circle meeting, the credit hours can be completed.  For study circle, there is no charges. There is no need to attend paid programmes and there are avenues are there.

We should await for response from other members and the intention of the professional development programme is not fund raising .  It is for the benefit of the younger members who are in the employment

Please note that exposure of company secretaries needs lot of improvement considering the present environment. We need to do home work to the given task by the employer.  In my opinion, it is absolutely necessary to have professional development is required for cs in employment

Just see. 15X3=50, 10X3=35 what is this nonsense.
 
To my information ICAI has given three options to its members to avail Credit Hours
1. By attending the programmes organised by ICAI
2. By organise themselves in groups for group discussions, just send the report to ICAI & the members of the group are entitled for Credit Hours.
3. By reading lectures on the topics suggested by the ICAI or selected by the member concerned & send the report on the lecture studied & u will be entitled for the Credit Hours.
 
In my letter I have to be very clear put a question mark on the competence of the persons responsible for managing the affairs of the Institute vis - a - vis Programmes under the scheme, simply because a programme has been organised by the Institute does not mean that it is essential for raising the skill of the members.

he question of attending the programme.   I am seeing as professional prospective not on any other motive

Please note that for this topic i don't think much larger participation by our fellow members.

I am very sorry that on one hand , you are talking about expenses and another side talking about  choose the topic.

Please see interaction in our forums for the last three years level of exposure , and you may be able to judge.  The government is going to finalise GST, IFRS and Direct Tax code in addition to the companies bill pending before the government.  The host of legislation one should get expertise and everyday, MCA is coming out with notification and clarifications. In the competitive environment, cs in employment also to take part in professional development programmes.

Please note that any type of professional development it is always welcome. It is my personal view and i am not defending anybody here.

I request members to express their opinions.

Its a good decision taken by the Institute. This will help members to
get unite and work for the profession.

Meeting senior professionals and friends frequently will help us to

dear sir,
what is the consequence if a member in whole time employment has not obtained required program credit hours (ie. 10 hours for each in all the 3 years OR 35 hours for the block of the 3 years)?
I have to prepare reasons to satisfy the management to get leave & that's why I am asking.
