Subject: ICSI launches e-book on The Companies Act, 2013
Today, the fast paced changes around us have led to the dire need to keep oneself updated on real time basis, which is the biggest challenge.
And if these are made available as a one stop solution, nothing like it. The ease of accessibility to this one stop solution also matters a lot.
On putting itself to the shoes of the seeker, the Institute of Company Secretaries of India embarked itself on the project of an e-book on Companies Act, 2013 with technical support from a third party service provider.
It was very important for us to understand the purpose, the needs, aspirations, speed and accuracy aspects of the e-book and also to bring out complete ease of reference to the Companies Act 2013, in its entirety, for not only its members but to everyone who would like to avail it.
With this idea, Ministry of Corporate Affairs and ICSI has taken initiative for taking up this project and at the Occasion of the 44th National Convention of Company Secretaries held on 17th -19 November, 2016, this e-book portal on the Companies Act, 2013 was launched by the hands of Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani, Hon'ble Union Minister for Textiles, Government of India.
The e-book portal is hosted on website of MCA as well as on the website of ICSI at the link- http://ebook.mca.gov.in
The features of e-book portal includes:
- Chapter wise updated Sections and Rules of Companies Act, 2013.
- Relevant MCA Notifications, Circulars and RODs on each section and rules linked with the text.
- All Notification, Circulars, Orders & Clarification issued by MCA.
- Search facility on Sections, Rules, Notifications, Circulars and Orders.
- Specified links in text of section with the Rules
- Highlighted text on Substitution, Insertion and Omissions in different colours.
I owe my gratitude to the officers of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs as well as Directorate of Corporate Laws and Governance of ICSI and CS Vineet K Chaudhary, Central Council Member and Chairman - Corporate Laws and Governance Committee of ICSI who steered this project from start to finish and took up the daunting challenges of this project.
