Aadhar card as Proof for DIN Application

Dear members,

PAN is mandatory for DIN

 BUT

Can Aadhar Card be used as residential Proof while making application for DIN.

I had used the same for DSC. But its being rejected by them saying Aadhar is still not acceptable.

Hi,

Yes you can use Adhar Card as address proof for applying DIN. Even SEBI is accepted the Adhar Card as address proof.

Please find below the mail sent by DIN cell in June 2012

Dear Mam,
               For obtaining the DIN, we require PAN Card as Identity Proof and For Address Proof we require:

Driving Licence/ Voter ID Card/ Passport/ Ration Card/ Electricity Bill/ Telephone Bill or whatever given in the DIN Help Form

No where in the Help Form of DIN 1 is mentioned about Aadhar Card i.e. UIN No. where as the applicants now a days provide the Professional the Aadhar Card as Address Proof.

So can we use the UIN no. as Address Proof while applying DIN 1. Please advice.

pl see a clarification over the internet, rather than over the phone, so that u have some evidence to fall back upon.

in fact i had also sought a clarification from DIN cell, and i was informed that Aadhar Card is an acceptable proof of address. and abased on this i have generated a couple of DIN numbers.
