Dear Friends,

MCA has exempted companies engaged in the business of Power from filing the Annual Report and Annual Accounts in XBRL Format.
What is the criteria to decide whether or not a Company is engaged in Power sector?

Our Company's main object in MoA is to generate, sale and purchase of Power, but we have not commenced any activity relating to the Object clause, except Operation and Maintenance of Power Plants.

In furtherance the Concept of XBRL is not clear
as discussed with some of my friends and concluded that

if you are preparing the balance sheet and P & L account as per schedule vi, even if you company is in Power sector you
need to file in XBRL format despite of the exemption to Companies operating in Power sector - in order to avoid any type of future complicacies
Hope XBRL things will be clear soon by next 1-2 years

Dear Shankar,

Please refer to attached file - Form23AC XBRL Help. It exempts power companies from XBRL filing and I don't see any complications in light of the same.

I have filed the forms like yesteryears this year and its ok.

Regards,
Arvind

Power companies which is generating and distribution of power only. It will not be available to operation and maintenance of power plants.

Your company has to file under xbrl only and no exemption will be available
