Hi All,

Section 165 provides every public company must have a statutory meeting within the time provided therein. Is there any provision that statutory meeting must be the first general meeting and no general meeting should be convened prior to statutory meeting?

Thanks and regards,

Dear Sir,

This is my viewpoint on your query on Statutory
meetings:
The Companies Act,1956 does not specifically provide
that Statutory meeting should be the first general
meeting of the Company. Therefore,it does not seem to
appear that a general meeting cannot be convened prior
to the Statutory meeting.

Please correct me if i am wrong
