Query- Annual Return on Foreign Liabilities and Assets

Dear All

Pls tell me, What do u mean by OWN FUND OF BOOK VALUE METHOD, applicable while filing Annual Return on Foreign Liabilities and Assets to RBI? according to me it means values at book value.

Because at the end it says, Please ensure to mention figures at MARKET VALUE.

Please ensure that details (Reserve & Surplus and Networth) provided in Block IC of Section-II and the details using in calculation of OFBV are the same....then you will get the error rectified.

even i was facing this error initially but later it got rectified. please ensure that u r writing the value of the investment as per the OFBV method.

DO not ignore the profit and loss account balance while calculating the value under OFBV method

It gives me an error - Equity and participating preference share capital should be given at market value using OFBV method (based on networth)

And i m already using the same method.

hi Swati, it will show you the same error untill n unless you will no0t use the OFBV method, whose format  is given in Guidelines in Excell format Prepare that format then fill the figures again of Non resident holdings. it will suffice your querry.

Swati please check the following things:

1.      You are using the OFBV method of calculating the investment

2.      In that method ensure that u are checking the entire amount of Reserves and Surplus and not excluding anything

3.      Since I assume u have already taken care of the above two things I would advice you to do the following: compute the networth (as per the oFBV method) and then take out the net worth per share .now multiply this value with the no. of shares.

I hope this will resolve ur issue in case it dooes not please let me know.

My query is solved now, All my figures were correct but from last 2 days i was entering figures in actual and not in Lakhs, this was the reason it was showing Error.

Now, i can validate it.

Yes monika.
You have to mention foreign subsidiary.
Then it will ask you details like sales, domestic purchase and imports etc.,

Kindly clarify one query also if in the company there is non participating preference share also whether those pref. share will also be taken while calculating the equity participation "10% or more"
