Yes, trust can be a member of a company.
In my opinion, no provision in companies act, 2013 prohibits a trust to become member of companies act.
Trust is a body corporate and any body corporate can be a member of the company.

However, a trust can hold shares in the company trustees.

Section 89 of the Companies Act, 2013, corresponding to section 187-C of the Companies Act, 1956, regarding Declaration of Beneficial Interest in Shares, needs to be complied with by the Trustee of the Trust–Shareholder.
