Unclassified Shares

Hello all,

What are unclassified shares? If a company has equity shares as well as unclassified equity shares, then what is the procedure to convert those unclassified shares into equity shares? Would only alteration of memorandum and articles suffice alongwith form 23 or some other form need to be filed or procedure to be followed?
