Dear members,

I am trying to upload the DIR-3 KYC for Mr. X who is not a citizen of India but he is residing in India since he is a director in Mumbai based company. His permanenet address is of Italy and present address is of Mumbai. After doing check form, it is showing error that please mention aadhar card number. He has not any aadhar card. Please let us know how to file this form.

As per MCA helpdesk, aadhar card is not mandatory.

If he’s resident in India, then Aadhaar card is mandatory. Even the notification which came in July end or 1st week of August, specified about this. If he doesn’t have Aadhaar, then he will have to apply for the same.

Is there any notification from MCA that Aadhar is not required for KYC, in the light of recent directive from SC?

Regards,
Mohan

That is for address proof where attaching utility bill has become optional but for Indian residents, Aadhaar is mandatory.
