Max. audit limit as per new CA, 2013

What is the max. limit to for a practicing chartered accountant to do the statutory audit for private and public company both ?

And in which section its mentioned ?

It is applicable to all type of companies irrespective of TO or PuC.

Sorry Mr. Agarwal I didnt get you.

basically I want to know that how many audit(of pvt. + public co.) can be done by a PCA ?

I think earlier it was 20 public companies and no limit for pvt. companies.

Sirs,

the main limit as per companies act is 20 nos which includes public ltd, joint audit of public ltd, sec 25 companies and govt companies and excludes pvt ltd, branch audit, foreign company, special audits.

as per icai guidelines, a CA can accept maximum 30 audits including exceptions mentioned above..

20 companies limit is as per CA act 1956 and what is the limit as per new CA act 2013 ?

why Should ca regulations restrict audits to 30. I think we cannot accept more than 30 audits including pvt Ltd companies with Zero turnover.ie.. total 30 only. Companies act does not limit- it but Ca regulations Limit it to 3O. we need to do Something about it.

If you feel strongly, you need to go to court. I think some time back someone went to court on ceiling on tax audits
