GST Registration - requirement of Trade License

Dear Members 

GST department has asked to submit Trade License and issued a notice while attending to the application submitted for registration 

Please advise what can be done 

Can it be possible that such requirement is specific to the SAC for services selected and state wise also

It is not mandatory, if they ask you to submit it, you can do two things:

1. Wait for the registration to be cancelled and apply again.

2. Apply for Trade license and submit it with department.

@Mr. Parveen, in any case the application is going to expire since trade license will take time

Your question is not clear to me, 

As far as I understand, your application will expire in 1 week time if you didn't replied.

Hi,

You can resubmit the GST application with copy of acknowledgement of filed application of Trade License.

It worked in MP, not sure for Kolkata.

Although Trade License is not mandatory for GST Registration but it is very much required in West Bengal and Assam, I don't know why so.

If you do not have Trademark License in these two states GST certificate won't be allotted.

So submit the registration with Trademark again.

Kindly check if you opt for an object related to factory/Manufacturing the office place would be commercial. Otherwise the GST Department now started to send resubmissions related to Trade License. Trade License is compulsory in the state of Kolkata.
