limits on PCS for secretarial audit

is there any limit on PCS on the number of companies which can undertaken for Secretarial audit

Currently there is no such limit imposed by the ICSI.

The limit of 5 has been suggested by ICSI but the same has not yet been approved

Which ultimately means there is no limit presently on the number secretarial audit to be conducted by the PCS :).

what is the geographical distribution of the target companies and the PCS who can undertake such assignments ?

Secretarial audit is applicable only to certain category of companies like listed companies, and companies with a large capital base and with borrowings etc and high turnover. When compared to the total number of companies which are incorporated, there would be very few numbers of companies which would required Secretarial audit compliance. Does it mean that for the other Categories , the compliance are relaxed. I do not think so. PCS services are required for the different types of companies which are incorporated under the CA 2013.

Large companies are getting more regulated by the day, with less freedom - and this will definitely be an irksome factor for the Management as well as for professionals.

in hyderabad ICSI president said it is limited to 5.
