Dear All,

Is it possible to have dual employement i.e. regular employment by a person in two or more organizations? [As per my understanding, a person may have one regular and other contractual employment(s) in an organization with the knowledge of both (all) the employers.]

If yes, then what will be the consequences? Is it possible to contribute PF in the same account of employee by two employers? Is it possible to deduct TDS for an employee by two or more employers simultaneously?

An immediate response will be highly appreciated.

hi Monika !

Employment with one or more employers is also possible.
It is practised already in various countries like US, UK, Australia.

adding to your thought, see two or more part-time employments also
(However employment terms should not prohibit the work undertaken / employment with another employer)

It is possible to deduct TDS for an employee who is under dual employment. (regarding other deductions, since deductions are made by respective employers treatment will be as usual) and it might not have any special consequences so far the employment terms constitute an enforceable contract .

Hi,

According to me, there is no law to prohibit more than one employment
in India or elsewhere in the world.

Second employment may be prohibited by a clause in the job contract of
first employer. If not, then it is fine to do be in multiple
employments.

TDS, PF can be done through one single account. Generally, there can
be more than one PF accounts since they are opened by more than one
employers. Views solicited.
