Surrender of RBI NBFC license

[POOJA]

Good Morning Everyone,

I have one query regarding NBFC. there is one nbfc which have no business activity from last 4 years, and now they want to surrender their license. Can anyone please help to understand the procedure of surrendering license with RBI.

Hi,

 

There is no specific format of application prescribed by the RBI. You may submit an application on the letterhead of the Company stating all the facts and enclose a statutory auditor certificate stating that the company is not carrying on any business for the last 4 years along with audited financial statements for that period, board resolution approving surrender of NBFC certificates, the returns filed with RBI for last 4 years, certificate of registration granted by the RBI, list of directors and shareholders etc. In case your NBFC is non deposit taking, then submit statutory auditor certificates that the Company had not accepted any deposits during the last 4 years.

 

Please note that RBI will allow your application only if you have completed all your compliances prescribed for NBFCs.
