Can a Person be appointed as both company secretary and director in same company?

From my point of view No, can't appoint act as both at a time in a same company..

a person can be appointed as company secretary cum director. He will become whole time director of the company as the CS position is a whole time employment.
for the purpose of complying with KMP provisions, you need to have another whole time director also.
you can not have only one whole time director cum cs.

in case a pvt. co. need not comply wtd as kmp is not mandatory. except cs subject to pusc Rs.5 crs & above.
