HUF as Shareholder

Dear Members,

Can an HUF be counted as separate shareholders in a company where the Karta of the same HUF holds shares in the same Company as in individual capacity?

HUF can be a shareholder, but the name is to be registered in the name of Karta. The Karta and HUF cannot be considered as 2 separate entity.

So sir, can Karta of HUF and Karta in the name of his individual capacity be counted as two person.

Actually Public Company wants to shorten their list of members to 7, as per the compliance.

Kindly help.

Yes Karta in his individual capacity is a shareholder

HUF represented by Karta is another shareholder

Pl note there will be two folios
