Share transfer stamps in Mumbai

Dear Members,

Please let me know whether share transfer stamps are to affix on share transfer deed or franking is required in case of transfer of shares.

Company is in Mumbai, transferor is of Delhi and transferee is of Mauritius. Where we have to pay the stamp duty.

Please guide on this.

Yes, you have to pay the stamp duty. Stamp duty can be paid by any one (transferor or transferee)

Please check the minimum eligibility criteria for stamp duty payment in Maharashtra i.e. Online Payment of Stamp duty (GRAS) or Franking else proceed for the manual process.

There's no such criteria of minimum eligibility payment of stamp duty. Even if ₹1 is payable, it should be done online only.

After the payment is done online, you to carry the challan along with 2 sets of acknowledgement (to be addressed to General Stamp Office in Fort, Mumbai) & transfer deed (in SH-4) for franking.
