Recently one of our client Company has changed its name in accordance
with the provisions of the Companies Act, 1956.

The question is consequent upon name change CAN THERE BE CHANGE IN THE
SHARE CERTIFICATES THAT IS CAN I GO AHEAD AND REARRANGE THE SHARE
CERTIFICATE NUMBERS.

It so happens a shareholder is given two certificates with distinctive
numbers which are not in serial SO CAN I GO AHEAD ISSUE him a single
certificate with all the distincitive numbers which he/she was holding
prior to the name change.

OR

I have to just change the name of the Company by affixing a sticker
on the exisitng sharecertificate without making any changes to the old
certificates.

Please let me know the requirment of the Act read with the share
certificates rules, 1960.

Regards,
Lalit.

yes u can fix the stiker
at the same time pass the resolution to alter the share certificats with new name.

or else you can print new certificates and keep the old under your control
so that you do not loose the track of previous share transfers
